My sister, incommunicado since before the Chilean earthquake and last reported as having rented a car in Bariloche, Argentina for a 5-day drive, finally reports in; they were clueless that the tremors they'd felt up in the mountains were anything other than a local thing. They were camped at Lago Falkner the night of the quake (up in the mountains near the Chilean border), drove to San Martin de los Andes the next morning, then on to El Bolson the subsequent day where they enjoyed the local hops festival.
Phew!
